What is Naturopathic Medicine? Naturopathic Medicine blends ancient healing wisdom with current scientific knowledge to provide the body with the tools to heal itself. Naturopathic medicine integrates many aspects of the patient’s life to achieve physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health and balance. Naturopathic Physicians honour these Six Principles:

It is my philosophy that the human body has an innate healing system that can deal with toxins, infections, deficiencies and other imbalances. The body, however, can be overwhelmed and not be able to bring itself back to harmony. When this occurs the body communicates to us through negative signs and symptoms. Using patient history, physical exam and diagnostic tools I am able to see where the body imbalances lie and provide ways to shift it back to equilibrium. Together with the patient we develop a plan of action of to overcome these obstacles to cure and stimulate the body’s natural healing system to work effectively. Dr. Erika Holenski graduated from the University of Guelph, with her BSc., specializing in Nutrition. Her increasing interest in natural healing led her to the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where she received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. Her desire for a balanced life, led her and her family to Kelowna, BC. She arrived in September 2005 and each day discovers something magnificent about the beautiful Okanagan Valley. Erika is licensed with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia and holds memberships with both the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). She enjoys having a diverse family practice and looks forward to guiding all of her patients on the path of wellness.
